We recently visited the Lukas Nursery and Butterfly Encounter, and what a treat it was! The plant nursery is huge, with never-ending varieties of plants and flowers. We went specifically to experience the butterfly habitat, and I absolutely loved it! I would've stayed longer had it not been so hot and humid. The cost is only $9 per adult, and they off and annual pass for $25. These are both a steal, especially for the large variety of butterfly species in the habitat. I especially loved the small enclosure which housed all of the Painted Lady butterflies! It was nice to see Giant Tiger Swallowtails, and many Monarchs, including mating pairs. I saw Peacock butterflies, Gulf Fritillaries, and others I had never seen before. The staff was very pleasant and professional, and they took the time to talk with us. The gift shop was also outstanding, providing so many different items for sale. I live out of state, though I look forward to visiting again. Maybe your new building will be constructed by then, which is something to look forward to. Thank you! 🦋
This was my first visit and I LOVE IT!! There's everything you could think of. I found the seeds I've looked for at 5 other places. And...they carry bulk bags of Vermiculite and Perlite. Something I was going to have to order online and wait a week for. Everyone I spoke to, including the customers were friendly and helpful. There's also a Butterfly Encounter. I didn't check it out this time because I'm so excited to get home and start working on my fall garden. If you haven't been here, and even if you have, come check it out. This place is huge! I left a review before for the nursery itself. This one is for their delivery and installation service in which they did a great job. A bunch of Chads came over and installed 4 lovely podocarpus and some lily dudes. They made the process easy, were friendly, and did a great job, like any Chad would do. I'd definitely have Lukas Nursery do this again. Their delivery and installation is top notch!
I highly recommend Mark Dunaway of Lukas Nursery in Oviedo as a landscape designer. I lost most of my plants during the cold snap in February. On a neighbor's recommendation, I contacted Lukas Nursery to get a design for redoing the beds. I asked Mark for plants that are appropriate for the weather in my area (Titusville, FL), will not be eaten by deer and rabbits, and can survive an occasional overnight temperature of 28-30 degrees without being covered. Mark produced a beautiful design, blending yellow allamanda, orange lantana, orange Bird of Paradise, and touches of blue salvia. His design included two podocarpus that nicely frame my bay window. He also recommended a landscape installer, Hengst Landscaping, who gave me a good price and did an excellent job. I posted pictures of the final product on Facebook and have received many comments about how pretty it is. Mark is very friendly, easy to work with, and very knowledgeable about plants. During the design and installation process, he promptly responded to phone calls and emails and answered my questions. He was very flexible and told me when he started the job that if I did not like the design, he would redo it and/or make any changes requested. (I had only one small change.) Even after the job was completed, he told me to contact him in the future if I have any questions regarding plant maintenance. The entire project was handled in a very professional manner from start to finish. (Note: Photos will look better when all plants are in bloom.)
I drove 45 minutes just to visit here and it was worth the trip!!! This place is huge with so much selection of plants!!! The staff was friendly and helpful as well! All the plants looked healthy and vibrant. They have everything you could want for your yard and landscape (indoor plants too!) The little gift shop they have has so many beautiful things to decorate you, your home and/or your yard! This place is a must go if you are looking for greenery of any kind, plus the pots to put them in!!! ******WARNING****** if you are a plantaholic you might wanna leave your cards at home and just bring cash so you don’t go over budget 😂🤣😂😂🤣 I will for sure be back!!
