Please understand that leaving your dog at a pet care facility is not unlike taking a child to daycare, school, or camp. There are exposures associated whenever there are multiple dogs under one roof. However, parents agree that the benefits of education and socialization outweigh the possibility of the common cold and other associated risks at schools. The same holds true for dogs at a pet care facility. Many pet parents agree that benefits such as socialization, exercise, bathroom break opportunities, and the opportunity to be cared for by trained and certified professionals outweigh the minimal and unlikely risks associated with a pet care facility.
About K9 Resorts Luxury Pet Hotel Oviedo
This is the third K9 Resort location we’ve gone to (others being Jacksonville & Wellington), and the quality of customer service and pet care has been outstanding at each location. The staff are extremely friendly and take the time to tell you the details of your dog’s day at daycare while giving him extra love on our way out. The beautiful lobby even smelled the exact same at each location, just like a clean hotel instead of a musty dog kennel. I’ve worked in kennels before and I can tell how clean they keep their kennels and yards based on how good he smells when I pick him up! My dog Mister Beau clearly got plenty of time to play all day, evidenced by how hard he sleeps after visiting here. 10/10 recommend the daycamp services at ANY K9 Resorts location.
This place is amazing. My Cavapoo is very needy and has anxiety but the staff here is so great with her. They have great communication and I trust them 100%. I truly believe that they really care about your dog and not just making money. I love the fact that they offer activities too. Highly recommend this place for daycare and boarding!
AVOID this place at all costs. Boarded my dog here for a weekend once before and it went smoothly—they checked in with me every day to tell me he was doing well and he had no problems. This second time around, I left him at the “resort” Thurs-Mon and didn’t hear from them at all the whole time, which I didn’t think was weird but made me assume everything was going well. Picked him up today and the staff made some references to him being difficult and trying to escape his room. Then when I’m driving home I notice he’s bleeding under his eye (no mark or spot there when I dropped him off). I call back about it and ONLY THEN am told that they had noticed this and that it was likely from him struggling against being put back in his room. It still feels like I’m not getting the full story there. I then called back again and asked what kind of room he’d been in, and ONLY THEN was then informed that they’d DOWNGRADED HIS ROOM WITHOUT TELLING ME: I reserved the top-of-the-line luxury suite but they’d actually kept him in the middle tier executive room all weekend because it’s apparently easier to shut that door. I’m not blaming the staff for my dog not liking being in a solitary room or for struggling to wrangle him; he’s a very strong and stubborn 90-pound Labrador. But not communicating with me when he sustained physical damage OR when they put him in a different, worse room than I had reserved is unforgivable. I would never trust a place with my dog that doesn’t communicate when there are problems. Every boarding place will run into issues, but failing to communicate with pet owners about said problems and alterations to their pets’ stays is unreasonable and untrustworthy. I’m sad for my dog that he was living in different conditions than I had reserved and thought I was paying for. Plus they still charged me $492. There are much better options close by—do your dog a favor and leave them in the care of a place that will talk to you if there are any issues or changes during your pet’s stay. 6/11/26 update: a couple days ago the manager called me, acknowledged that the team noticed my dog's injury but didn't tell me about it, acknowledged that they moved him into an inferior room without telling me, and said sorry. She said she'd get in contact with ownership about refunding me and call me back, but that was apparently a lie to try to placate me as I never got a call back. The "resort's" response below to this review seems to be empty AI slop. As far as I can tell, they just want to sweep this under the rug and have not actually taken any actions to properly train their employees, exercise proper managerial oversight, or even honor their word. The money is beside the point; I just want dogs to be spared from being placed in the hands of irresponsible and untrustworthy people. I feel like a bad dog owner for leaving him at this place.
I've brought my dog Nia here a few times since July 2025, and every visit has been great. She's naturally shy/anxious and has never been friendly with other dogs, but the staff has been so attentive to Nia and her needs, answering all my questions and moving at Nia's pace. Thanks to Samantha and Kelsi, she's opened up, started playing with other dogs, and even made a few buddies. Seeing her confidence grow has been the best part. Highly recommend!
My girls have such a grand time here :) They love all of their fur friends they make in group but also LOVE LOVE LOVE the staff. They show my babies nothing but kindness, affection and so much love. Dolly & Stevie actually get so excited when they see the K9 building and pull me straight to the door. I’m happiest when my girls are happy, and K9 resorts Oviedo IS their happy place!
