Full time sod installer here. . I’ve tried them all…. And I’ll still wait for Duda. If their sod is dry because it’s 98 degrees outside, so is everyone else’s. Trust me. That top layer that people take pictures of , is like that after twenty minutes of sitting in the sun after being harvested when it’s 99 degrees outside! That’s 6-8 pieces out of 200+ that got baked protecting the others from the sun. Vicky and Melony have turned the office around in a positive way over the last year from the previous office staff. They actually communicate on any issues with rain delays, transport, or availability without leaving me to wonder. 25 years I’ve thrown sod. I’ve used sod down the list of providers……from A-Z…. Literally. From A1A sod in longwood, which I am under the impression are just middle men and not producers, to Zeus distributors, which I think tanked and sold. Duda has been king for me. . If you have an invoice that states they are 400 ft.² pallets, they are usually 400 ft.² pallets. If you have an invoice that states they are 500 ft.² pallets, they are usually 500 ft.² pallets. I’ve grabbed as little as one pallet a week (500 ft.²,) up to over 20 pallets (10,000 ft.²,) and they’ve always been really close on measurement. I’m so confident, I install sod from October 15 thru March 15, and I am able to put a warranty on it!! The rest of the months, it’s too hot to warranty if I’ll even make it, so I’m not going to warranty anything else. Lol! You can check the rest, but for me, Duda, has been the best. June 2024
When a pallet of grass that was put down in our yard with the hopes of it coming back completely died, I was beside mysel. I spoke to Vicki Ambry who was very understanding of our situation. She helped us to get a new pallet of sod to replace all of the dead pieces. This company is very good and they for sure did right by us! I highly recommend them!!
I was sold dried up pallets of brown citra blue sod from Duda. When I called to complain I was hung up on told to shop somewhere else. Got it.
Been doing business here for years came in to buy some sod it's all dried up a little bit brown told me it is what it is very sad said I'm the manager when I asked her could she come back and tell me which side was which cuz the guy back there said he doesn't know an apple from an orange
All sod has issues. They put the good pieces on the top and the bottom of the pallets, and the thin, crumbly, and weedy pieces in the middle. That way, your first impression is good, and so is your last, for each pallet. All sod farms do this. But Duda does it less than anyone else: fewer bad middle pieces, and some good pallets all the way thru! Duda sod is the BEST in Metro Orlando, bar none!
